Broadway Photo- Bad Business
I have been searching for a Canon G9 for awhile. Finally after hunting down what looked to be a best buy situation I placed my order. I had found the G9 for under $400.00 and supposedly new with US warranty. The web site is Broadway Photo, located in NYC. After 2 days, I get an email asking me to call and confirm my order before it gets shipped.
Okay no biggie, very first thing the guy says is…it comes with a battery that will only last about 20 minutes, do I want to upgrade? I say “NO”.
He asks, do you need any memory cards or an external flash? I reply “No”
He then says okay your camera is in stock and ready to ship, but you do realize it is imported from Japan and everything included is in Japanese. I say, but the web site said made for USA with warranty, he says no, but for another $120.00 I can upgrade to the USA model.
I said “No, just cancel my order right away” he said okay fine. I then went to my local circuit city and bought the G9 on sale and got a free Epson photo printer as well.
So tell everybody you know to steer clear of Broadway photo, they are not 100% on the up and up.
